I have decided to replace all 4 coil springs on my 1984 300sd and was wondering, should I replace the spring pads at the same time, or should I expect the old ones will most likely be OK? Also, while I have the springs out, are there bushings, etc. that it would make sense to replace?

atkinsonrr,
I doubt that you need to worry about the pads, but this will be an ideal time to check the ball joints, control arm bushings and track rod links for tightness. Thanks Larry, will do!

Be sure to remove the pads and check the seats for rusting and general road garbage. If rusty, clean, repaint and reinstall pads.
