1985 300TD Interior

My interior trim pieces around the inside of the windows is distorted due to the car being left in the sun for a long period of time (before I bought the car). My question is, are the trim pieces a formed piece of hard plastic or vinyl? I need to replace them but don't know what they are made of. If the are hard, formed pieces, does anyone have some for sale or is the salvage yard the route to go? Also, how are they attached? I also need the vertical plastic trim pieces on both sides of the tailgate.

Anyone have some info?

Thanks

Jerry

Jerry,
Interior part conditions are soooo subjective. I looked at an 85TD the other day that was TRASHED!! Sun and water damaged...yuk! OTOH, my son's wagon (the same year) is in great shape. 'd suggest 'making the rounds' of a couple of local boneyards every month or so to scarf up any good stuff that's arrived.

Regarding those plastic window surrounds --

when they begin to wrinkle up and get cracked and ugly, a lot of us just pull them off and let the paint show (I'm glad Christine doesn't look at me that way). On models before the '90s the paint, even in such hidden places, is usually so well done that it looks just as good as the trim ever did -- unless you're one of those folks who think visible paint on the inside of a vehicle only belongs on pick-up trucks used for serious work.

Thanks, R Leo and Fimum Fit for your responses. I will look in the salvage yards for pieces and if that fails, I will remove the offending pieces and let the paint show
Thanks
Jerry
