I have a 1987 190e 2.3 16v which has been great for the last year till today! I drove to a petrol station less than 1 mile away, stopped the car, got out and bought a newspaper, got in turned the engine over and.......it ran for about 5 seconds then stopped. wouldn't go after this. I have since found out that no power is going to the fuel pump. Over voltage fuses are okay so how can I check the fuel pump relay without buying a new one (£135...$225) in the U.K. Thanks in advance for any help.

You can take it open from the bottom. If you see a big crack or burned place in the solder, just use a solder iron and repair it. This should help.
