THANKS TO MERCEDES BENZ SHOP FORUM FOR ALL THAN WE CAN LEARN FROM YOU.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SBOURG, DAVECT, CHRIS MARTEEN, MODELATORS ETC. FOR THIS IMPORTANT THREADID ABOUT AIR FLOW MASS POTENTIOMETER.

EXCUSE ME, BUT I FEEL THAT MANY MECHANICS MEN DON'T KNOW ABOUT ELECTRONIC AND ICS PRINCIPIUM OF MERCEDES BENZ CARS, AS YOUR, AT LEAST IN MY POOR COUNTRY.

THIS SHOP FORUM CONTRIBUTE TO NOT MISTIFY THE PROPERTY AND MAINTANANCE OF M. BENZ CARS.

BESIDES THAT, WE ENJOY "DO IT YOUR SELF" TRYING TO SOLVE ANY OF OURS M. BENZ PROBLEMS, TO PLACING ONE'S CONFIDENCE IN YOUR ADVISEMENT.

NOW, LET ME TO SAY HOW I SOLVED THE IDLE, STALLING, BAD MILAGED, ETC. PROBLEMS IN MY 190 E, 2.6L, 15 YEARS OLD.

1º. THE DUTY CYCLE % WAS 90 PERCENT, THE GAS CONSUME WAS 4 KILOMETERS PER LITER, THE RPM AT IDLE IN "N" COULD BE 1000, BUT IN "D" WAS 600 AND W/AC ONLY 400. REALLY BAD. EVEN TOUGH THE PLUGS, & INJECTORS ARE NEWS.
2º. CHECKED THE 02 SENSOR, IT WAS BURNED OR BAD AND CHANGED IT.
3º. CLEANED THE IDLE VALVE, MASS AIR, AND CHANGED THE FUEL PRESSURE VALVE. CORRECTED ALL THE VACCUMS LEAKAGE.
HOW EVER THE PROBLEMS CONTINUED.
4º CHANGED THE POT, THE OLD ONE HAS THE NUMBER 1º INTERNAL LOWER CONTACT, BURNED OR WORN- OUT.
5º ONLY DISCONECTED THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR FOR ACCESING THE POTENTIOMETER PLASTIC CAP AND 4 SCREW. INSTALLED THE NEW POT WITH THE 4 SCREW LITTLE LOOSEN. iNSTALLED THE F. PRESSURE REGULATOR, CONECT THE POT SOCKET LEAVING A LITLLE SPACE FOR CONTACTING THE MULTI VOLTIMETER RED CABLE TO POT PIN 2. THE BLACK ONE WAS TO BATTERI GROUND.
6º STARTED THE ENGINE. THE INITIALS READING WERE 69.8 MILI VOLTS IN PIN 2. FOR PIN 1 WAS 10.7 MILIVOLTS. AND FOR PIN 3 WAS 4.84 VOLTS.
7º. WE BEGAN ROTATING THE POT RIGHT SIDE, LITTLE BIT, LOCKING FOR 700 MILIVOLTS AT PIN 2. WE NOTICED THE ENGINE RPM CHANGED WHEN ROTATED THE RIGHT POT END AND THE READING IN THE VOLTIMETER WAS CHANGED TOO.
8º. THE BEST READING GOTTEN, WAS 684 MILIVOLTS WHICH IS IN THE 700 MILLVOTS +/- 250 MILLIVOTS RECOMENDED BY THE M.BENZ CD MANUALS, AS SAY MR. CHRIS MARTENS.

9º. THE FINAL READINGS WERE: 11.3 MILIVOLTS FOR PIN 1º, 684 MILIVOLTS FOR PIN 2, AND 4.84 VOLTS FOR PIN 3. THE ENGINE RPM IS 1000 AT "N", 800 AT "D" W. A/C.
NOW WE ARE TRYING TO MESSURE THE GAS MILLEAGE.


AS SOME BODY SAID IN THIS FORUM, MY 15 YEARS OLD M.BENZ IS: "NOISELESS LIKE A MOUSE ON A MATTRESS" OR " SOFT LIKE A BABY SKIN".
