the electric fan comes on only at the upper mark on the gauge but will come on when running the A/C but it still runs a little high on the temp thanks Keith

It sounds like the aux fan low circuit is not running with the A/C on. Check it first.

I have a '95 E320 (owned about 2 weeks now) and I have noticed that around town the temp. will get up to around 100 C and once I get up to speed on the road it drops back down to around 80 C. I just assumed this was normal seeing as how this is my first Mercedes. The temp. gauge was rock steady on all the Hondas and Toyotas I have owned.
Thoughts/ideas?
thanks,
engatwork

engatwork,

As long as you're not losing coolant anywhere, this sounds normal.

Good luck,
