Torque Converter Drain Plug

Hi everybody,
I have changed the transmission fluid + filter on my CLK 430 (1999).The fluid was ok, and the oil pan was clean inside.
But I turned the engine and it was impossible to find the plug to drain the converter.
Does anyone know if in new MB transmission the converter plug is missing?
Many thanks to everyone that will help me.
Alberto

I thought they started deleting the torque converter drainplug in 2000 when they came out with the touchshift system. Possibly they started deleting the drainplug in the torque converter somewhat before this time.
