Question OIL Burning 300TE 1992

After 630miles I am missing ~2 liters.
No leaks that I can see ,Cooling water is clear. the oil itself is clean (no water marks in it)
The question is :how much will it still be "normal" for 102,000 miles on it.
Please advice,
New MBZ owner

Valve guides. Enjoy!
While you have the valve train and cylinder head out, have a sportier valve profile made and the head shaved a few thou.
Might as well try to get 150kw out of it!

Sounds more like valve seals to me. My 88TE was using a similiar amount of oil @ 115,000 miles, I had the seals done and I later re-sealed the upper chain cover (minor leak). My engine has been clean for 2 plus years now. I use no oil in between changes. Currently at 170,000 and going strong.

I think the valve stem seal job was about $400.00. I would look into that before jumping into removing the head. If you had 200k on the car then I would be inclined to think guides.
