spindle dilemma
 

hey guys...i have a 1975 116 (450sel) parts car, and i was thinking of using the components of the independent rear suspension in my kit car, the problem is the 116 has a semi trailing arm and i want to build a double wishbone for my car. so my question is can i use the 116 components( differential hubs brakes bearings etc..) less the spindle (hub carrier), with a different model spindel that was designed for a double wishbone?
i know the 140 had a double wishbone but i have no idea if my components will bolt right on without modifications...how about a 126 did they have a double wishbone? will the components of the 116 bolt on the 126 spindle?...please help i'm doing this as a mech engineering graduation project and i'm stuck. thanks

W126 rear suspension is just like W116.
