Benzmac/M.B.DOC
Sorry to beat this topic to death but unfortunately the EZL control is not adjusting/limiting the spark advance as it had previously. It has no affect on timing regardless of setting. The timing cannot be adjusted manually because the ECU overrides any manual adjustment. The Electrical Troubleshooting Manual is not much help. Can you offer any suggestions as to what to check for the inoperative EZL control? Ultimately I will install a cat if necessary but it is frustrating when I am sure the car is capable of running clean enough without one. I really appreciate all of your time and effort! Regards, Mike C. |

You may have an open wire from the EZL to the resistor pac. You will have to wing it on a wire diagram. I know of none for the Euro cars. I would start there.
