w140 suspension ??
1997 S500 coupe with self leveling rear. Car was sitting low. Had hydrolic switch adjusted by local independent MB Shop. It now seems to ride high. What is stock ride height and how is it measured. I asked mechanic and he said info not available.
Part #2. Now that rear is up I have a clunk in the left side rear only at low speed 10mph and under. Shop claims bottom bush/ball joint on self leveling shock is bad. Cure buy new shock and should do both sides. Do this make sense? You really cant rebush these pricey shocks? |
Find a dealer with a experienced front end tech. Replace the shock bushings and set the ride height with the Romness guage per the specs in WIS.

According to the service manager at my local M.B. dealer, the self levelling rear shocks do not need to be replaced in pairs as regular shocks do when only one fails.
By the way Joe: I strongly disagree with you, in my opinion "IF IT LEAKS, IT'S BRITISH" (just ask any Jaguar or Land Rover owner). |
