Anyone had a squeaky pulley wheel?

Since the water pump was replaced on my 190e
I've had a squeak which I initially thought was the serpentine belt but now I'm pretty certain its the pulley wheel the pump fits behind....anyway its driving me nuts
can anyone tell give a fix, is there a fix (please say there is!)?

Mike.

If like USA models, the fan is an electromagnetic clutched model - I would take that off and look for a problem. The fan part has a bearing that allows it to free-wheel. It may be going bad.

It is the eletro-magnetic type so I'll check the bearings...

Yes I had exactly this on a 190D a few years ago. It was the fan belt tensioning pulley bearing. There is only one cure, unfortunately. I tried oil etc but a new one cured it.
