blower filters

I need to order a blower motor and regulator. I can get one with a filter or without. Are they talking about the acc cabin filters or are they talking about something else? I think this filter is also offered when ordering the regulator. Can someone please explain this?

What model & year of CAR???

R129 chassis from 1990 had microfilters, W140 chassis had microfilters, & all USA MB's from 1994 had microfilters. However you can't retro-fit microfilters. The W124 chassis starting in 1994 WAS the only model that added the microfilter durning the production run! & that happened in 1994
