If you want Old MB Quality buy the G500
 

Boy!, that sucker is like a tank. It has the nice luxury interior features, but that trunk feels very, very solid. Doesn't handle so great, but is one of the best 4x4's in the world.

Go test drive one. I had to use two hands to close the door! They still make em like they used to. They don't sell too many of them versus ML's. So that why they are "not making em like they used to."

Same basic truck since the '70's, eh?:D

The best newer MB model to buy. Definitely old school.

Go whole hog and get the G55 AMG!! Let's see.....$92,480.00....
I can stop eating, drinking, playing golf and turn off the electricity and I should be able to afford one before 2005!!

I read a magazine while shopping which had a review of the G500, in a few words they said that car is terrible, I have no idea who wrote the review, but they had no idea what they were talking about, a gass guzzler it might be, but it will last 20 years with no rust on it at all or any major repairs. I'd like to see a domestic car do that.

The G500 is probally terrible to drive compared to all the newer SUV's on the road because it's a true 4x4! That editor is probally like most people in the world now who only lease a car for 2 years then trade it in for a new one. No one cares about long term quality anymore, just the members of this site:)

Man, $92k for a G55 AMG, it's free! Let's see, you can only get a E320 with comfort package for that money here in Turkey, thanks to ridiculously high taxes. (tax free price is $43k)

G500 with premium package is $170k, S500 with business package is $157k, the list goes on.. lowest AMG price is C30 CDI sportscoupe for only $90000.
