Estimates repair costs 126

I need to get two repairs done on my 1985 380SE and want to get a ballpark cost:

1. Exhaust - there's a leak below the driver's door. What would it cost to replace the center pipe and/or back to the tailpipe.

2. Driver's window - the switch works and the motor whirs inside the door but the window has gone from making a banging noise when closing to non-functional. I'm thinking regulator. What's the cost?

Thanks for any feedback. I don't have the time or tools to do this myself, but I have an great mechanic. Just want an idea of the damage to my wallet.

Your window could be as cheap as $7 to fix. There is a small plastic piece that rides in the regulator channel called a "sliding jaw" that is prone to failure. Only one way to find out though.

Does that sound like the culprit to you? All the moving parts seem to be in working order otherwise. The window was going up about 80% of the way before it started making a pounding noise and slipping. It's a lot of labor to check this thought, isn't it?

exhaust

I had a small leak in the exhaust all I did was take it to a muffler place and had the guy weld the hole shut. It was actually where the previous joint/weld was, so he just re-welded it on top of the previous weld. Might not be pretty but I can not see it. It cost me 5 bucks, then again I live in central america but how much it cost you there at a muffler shop? Not much, I think.....

He already patched it once and did me a favor by helping it through my last inspection. It needs more than just a patch.
