gonna pull the engine from my wrecked 420SEL

I have a few questions; First, what do i need to know about to make my life easier? Second, will a cheapie engine lift from Kragen work? Third, will a junkyard, preferably a Mercedes one take my car without a engine?

Were me and you have storage room I would strip everything that's not damaged from it for sale or future use and then pay someone to haul the hulk away..........

I could use the rear passenger trailing arm if it is in good shape with no rust. Please advise

I am in the prcess of stripping down an 87 244dl volvo, that my daughter recently crashed. The wreckage is worth about a $100, intact. I have salvaged every nut, bolt, component and drivetrain. I have taken a sawsall to the chasis an will be dumping it at a steel recycler. The steel is next to no value. Presently shopping for another volvo "kids car", and will use the spare parts on it. As for the value of your stripped wreckage, it will diminish as parts are pulled off, and you may have to pay to have it hauled away. Excess parts and components can be sold off on ebay, but you will not get the price that you think you should, but a personal set of spares for your next car has great value. My time involved for stripping and chopping the whole car is about 20 hours. What are your plans for the engine? BTW, your may be able to rent an engine hoist.

If you think you'll need to use it a few times, and you have the space, Harbor Freight tools has a cherry picker on sale this month for $149!

The Harbor Frieght cherry picker is a great value. I have the folding model, be sure to bungy cord the legs when in the upright position, they tend to fall down and hit yah in the head.

I'm doing the 420SL engine swap :D. If it wasn't for a Lexus and a 380SL occupying my garage, i would keep it in my parent's garage and part it out.

I may need the left subframe if it is not damaged...or I might take both left and right if the price is right...

don't mean to sound like a vulture, however, I could use a climate ctl for my 87, if you want to pull it and send it to me.....I cover postage, etc...
