Climate control display, C280

Thanks to everyone for all the great posts on this forum. I hope someone can help with this.

The characters on my climate control display have started to occasionally become, for lack of a better word, jumbled. I can bring them back by pushing on the display. Something is apparently not making good contact. Anyone know if this can be repaired and/or how I can remove it to try and fix or replace it?

Thanks for any help, Dan 1996 C280

LCD's are very difficult to replace OR repair! Replacement of the complete A/C control panel is the only way.

Uses the same spesial tool sheetmetal keys that are used to remove the radio. They stick into those slots in the bottom corners of the "face" of the control panel.

This is a common W202 1996- problem. I have heard that you can buy a new unit for $150, but that sounds completely wrong to me if I know MB electronics parts prices.

Thanks for all the input.
I'll try to pull it and see what I can see.
