Question Snakey Car

IM NEW MEBER HAVE BEEN READING FOR SOME TIME NOW
AND THERE IS INTERSTING THINGS

BUT NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM THE CAR IS 200000 KM IS WORKING VERY GOOD
BUT THERE IS ONE THING THAT I CAN NOT FIND WHY IS WHEN I LOAD THE BACK WITH 100KG IS GOING LIKE SNAKE ON THE ROAD FROM 70 KM /H AND UP I FEEL DIZZY EVERY TIME
I HAVE DONE WHEEL ALIGNEMNT ,NEW TYRES

WHAT CAN IT BE ????

My first guess (considering the mileage) would be loose or worn suspension components. The added load on the rear puts added stress to those components, and things start to get loose when driving at high speeds.

I'm not an expert at what to look for, but check the rear crossmembers bushings for signs of wear.

I HAVE CHECK FOR THIS THINGS BUT WHAT I CAN SEE EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE OK
I THINKING MORE THAT THE ACKUMOLATERS TANK FOR THE REAR SUSPENSIONS IS NO GOOD

CAN THAT BE DOING THIS THING ?

Two things that might help get an answer to your question:

Stop using all caps - it's like yelling at everyone.

Let us know some particulars about your car: year, model, etc. We already know it is a Mercedes, but help narrow it down for us.

I have the same problem. I have yet to diagnose this since this is my daily driver and have had an extremely busy week at work. But if I am lucky, I will be getting out of here in a few hours and going to the shop to check all of this out personally.

Check this thread out that I started a few days ago:

If neither of these two links work, then goto the posts from 11-03-2003 and look at the tread called "She felt loose!!!???" Haasman was very kind in posting a detailed list of possible culprits.

I had the same problem as you could see from the link that I posted. I went yesterday to have the car re-aligned. It took the tech 1 1/2 hours to properly re-align the car. I guess that he either used the wrong program on my original alignment or that he did not tighten things up after he was done.

In the end, after the re-alignement I went outside of the city to give it a shot and took the car to 130km per hour and problem seems to be solved. I am going to give it another shot this weekend out on the highways just to make sure.

have you test the car with people in it or some kind of load
to see if it still there ???

OK Scandinavian, now for more questions.

When you say it is "snakey", I understand the car is all over the road. When I first read that I was thinking rear suspension links because in my mind I suspected you had a W124.

Now we learn it is a wagon, which has hyrdaulic self leveling, and you made reference earlier to bad accumulators. Now does the rear of the car bounce alot going down the road? Or is your ride a very harsh ride, where you feel every bump in the road? Then I would think the accumulators are shot. An easy check would be to get the rear up on ramps, find the bleeder screw on the leveling valve and attach a section of clear tubing. Then with all of your body parts out of the way crack open the bleeder screw. If the spheres are shot your fluid will come out very foamy.

If your fluid is foamy, replece the spheres and you should be good to go.

I tested the car with my executive assistant in the passanger seat. He weighs about 100 kilos. The stretch was about 1 kilometer long driving at about 120 km per hour. it felt fine. But when I felt it was all loose it was loaded with three adults and a child and the trunk full. Therefore, I am going to pack the trunk this weekend and take it out on a longer drive and include some roads with curves and see how she handles this time.

As I said, my problem in the end was a bad alignment as far as I can tell. How it happened, I do not know I guess the tech just did not pay attention to the program he chose or that he left some fittings loose which caused me to lose the alignment. Also, take note, Gilly told me that if I loose the alignment too fast it could be signs of other worn parts within the steering or the suspension. So far, neither I or my mecanic has found any worn parts here. But, I am going to test drive it again and then take it back to the alignment shop and have them check the alignment again to see if it varies from the last re-alignment.

Yes the car is w124 wagon, no the car is not bumping and i have
death space on my steering wheel,
im going back to the guys that did wheel aligment and recheck this again, and all the wheel bearings is ok.
