Dear Benzman,
I think I found something. I had done some research for a friend and even though restoration is not my forte' I found a link you may find useful. It is http://www.dashboards.com . I have never used them, maybe someone else on the board has, and can speak to the quality, service, etc. I was able to find your vehicle listed so I don't think it would hurt to at least call. As for 15 year old speakers, yea, I would definetly consider at least checking the butyl rubber speaker surrounds while I was in there workin' on my dash, but if you either don't use your stereo that often or you don't notice any sound degradation I probably wouldn't bother replacing them, especially since the product I'm giving you the link to does not require you to remove the dashboard. Sometimes, as it pertains to your speakers, ignorance really is bliss ------------------ '99 SLK230 (Bahama Blue) 17" O.Z. Oops!
I sure hate responding to my own posts, but I just found the link I was originally looking for (knew I had it, must be getting old!). Try http://www.coverlaymfg.com , much more mainstream. Seen them on a few DIY shows on T.V. Kind of invented the dash board overlay as I understand it. Anyway, they also have nifty little pics of the overlays, and offer 2 different covers for your dash. I guess there was a climate sensor offered as an option on your vehicle? Happy covering. Paul |
THANKS
