Horn location on '94 SL500
 

The low tone horn on my car has lost it's toot and only the high tone still works, however, I've searched high and low at the front of the car and I cannot find the horns. If anybody knows where they are located, please let me know.

I believe you will find the horns loacted in the area in front of the front wheels. There is a panel in that area that extends to the front bumper. If you remove that panel you should find the horns. There should be one horn on each side of the car.

Is it easier to access the horns by removing the wheel and then the plastic fender well? I didn't think horns could break down after nine years, especially for a MB.

Yes removing the wheels will make it easier to remove the panels.Only the lower front portion of the panels needs to be removed. You may be able to see the horns by raising the car and removing the belly pan.
