s320 transmission
95 S320 - on the highway the tranmission will shift from overdrive to 4th gear. It happens if you rest your hand on the shifter and move it even slightly. It will shift down to 4th gear and then shift back to OD. Is there a switch in the shifter that is causing this?

Is it normal for it to do that or should I look at replacing the switch? I typically drive with my hand rested on the shifter especially when working the radio. It has never been a problem before. It just started happening after the evaporator was replaced. Any thoughts?

Hi Guys- Just wondering what the difference was in rpm's between OD and 4th gear at lets say 60 MPH? I'm not sure if my car (94 s320) is going into OD. Sorry to get off subject. Thanks for your time.
