Battery Charge Warning Light come on

Dear All,

I have a CLK 230 Kompressor (1999).
While driving the Battery Charge warning lamp has come on. I have also noticed that on pressing the accelerator the light dims slightly.
How can I fix the problem.

take it to a battery place, sears etc. and have them check the battery/alternator charge. They usually do it for free.
