Gasoline (87 oct.) is between $1.49 & $1.57 depending on the county. Diesel is around $1.48 and $1.58 usually the county with the cheap gas has expensive diesel, and vice-versa. Premium is around $1.75 ±4¢.
Sounds like in Detroit you get not only beat up by the lousy roads, but now by the price of fuel too!

For me its almost even between my gas and oil burner..my 300 would get a little better mileage than my (other car), but diesel is just a penny or two more in most places.

In sunny SoCal, the best price I have found for 87 octane Standard/Chevron is $1.55 - most places about $1.65-69. About a dime higher for mid grade 89, and ditto for not so high test 92 octane. The cheapest ARCO (what's that pinging sound?) is about 3-5 cents less, and COSTCO or ultramar is about 2 cents less than ARCO. Of course, all the gasoline is liberally laced with methtertbutylether oxygenators, which we were told made the gas cost more when they were first added. Now that they are being taken out, you guessed it, it is going to cost more to remove it!

Eastern and Central Massachusetts are about 1.70 + for premium.

2.30 in detroit? Holy crap! Sad, especially when you think about almost half of that goes to your state to upkeep the roads, even sadder when you have toll roads like in Mass. whre you pay gas tax, and pay to use the roads.

It's about $1.97 a gallon, +/- a few cents, for 92 octane at like 76, Chevron, Shell, etc. here in the Santa Barbara area. Like in JCE's neck of the woods, 89 octane is 10 cents less than 92 octane, and 87 octane is 10 cents less than 89 octane. Diesel is around $1.85 a gallon here, but I saw it for $1.57 a gallon up in Santa Maria, 75 miles north of here.

In Atlanta metro area, the low grade to premium spread is about:
$1.45, $1.55 and $1.65 per gallon.... You can find cheapo gas a few cents less but that seems the average. $2.30 ???? MAN THAT's BAD!

$1.73 for 91 octane here in SW Missouri. Man, if it gets to $2+ here, I may have to trade in my Benz for a fleet of Geo Metros

Dean, $1.89 for diesel?

One good thing is that diesel hasn't changed up here in Detroit. I can still find it for around $1.39 - $1.49/gallon. Thank god for the MB diesel. Otherwise, I'd be forced to go to my alternate transportation -- it's a Schwinn!

Paid $1.59 for premium yesterday. The most I have ever paid in NC. I live within 15 miles of a huge gas storage complex. There fore gas is more expensive here than at the coast 100 miles away! But seafood is more expensive there than here. Conspiracy?

I also live in the metro Detroit area and am paying $2.31 a gallon for premuim. Isn't a coincidence that about a week or two after I read about the Michigan State government suing the oil companies for price gouging, all of a sudden, we're paying more for gas than anyone else in the nation. I have really been racking my brain trying to figure out how to best stage a protest/boycott so the oil companies will feel the pinch and lower the prices. If anybody has any suggestions I would love to hear them. The "official" response from the oil companies is that a pipeline that runs from the Chicago area to Michigan has broken. B.S.! Me and my wife were out cruising yesterday and she commented that it would be cheaper if our cars ran on Starbucks coffee or something...

Currently in Central Kentucky, I feel pretty lucky. Our fuel prices are cheap compared to the rest of the country.

Current prices are Regular- $1.56, Super- $1.76, and Diesel- $1.38.
Occasionally, you can find it about $0.10 cheaper in areas where four or five stations are in a group.

Just thought I'd add my $0.02 worth, since I'm not blowing it on gas...

In Minnesota, I filled today at $1.92 for 93 octane Super. Have a 700 mile trip over the next two days...am debating about borrowing my wife's Honda Civic for the trip...guess it will depend on the weather...if it's nice, how can I not take the convertible...after all, it's what I bought it for...

Will just have to pretend I can afford it.

You should have been there back in the early to mid 90's when I was working for Daewoo Motors. The exchange rate was only about 800 won per dollar as compared to the 1100 to 1200 won it is today. Can't complain much though. Met my wife there, but we always took a taxi...
