The oil tank return line for the rear level control system on my '84 300TD has rusted through just above the rear axle carrier. As the clearance between the vehicle body and the axle carrier is minimal, any advice as to the easiest way to replace this 6mm line would be great. If the steel line replacement requires dropping the rear axle carrier, I'm wondering if a section of high pressure flexible hose could be spliced into the low pressure return line?
