oil change: firewall debris into filter housing

Today while changing the oil in my 190e 2.6, I accidently knocked some small chunks of foam insulation off the firewall pad (which is kind of crumbling) and it fell into the oil filter housing when the filter was off. I did my best to suction all of it out with my topsider by repeatedy inserting into the area until I was getting absolutely nothing up the tube, and I think I got all of it. Do I run any risk of clogging something up if a few small particles remained out reach? (hard to see down into the housing very far)

Just curious - next time I will shield the area with some plastic or something...

thanks,

Todd

Spin-on or canister filter? I know the M103 has a spin-on.

If the crud fell into the outer part, no problem, the filter will catch it all. Oil goes from oustide to inside.

If it fell into the hole the clean oil goes down, it will get flushed into the engine.

It was in the outer part - and I'm sure I got 99% out so I'm not worried.

Thanks for the info...
