190E Weird Air Conditioner Behavior

My 109E A/C behaves very strangely. It intermittently switches the compressor off and blows ambient air, then sometime later reverts to normal operation.
Please note that this is NOT due to low refrigerant or faulty pressure switch - the system has just been recharged and the switch replaced (though I now suspect it was innocent!). Also, bypassing the pressure switch has no effect when the problem is happening.
Obviously there is something else in the compressor relay circuit that is intermittent. I guess it must be the evaporator temp sensor, that is switching off and failing to switch on again when it should. Has anyone had any experience like this?

exact same problem

I also am having the problemt that is outlined above. Does anyone have any thoughts. It happens more often when it is really hot (Texas days) rather than in the evenings.

One simply item to check are the flexible rubber connector tubes under the hood, near the fuse box/firewall area.

I helped a friend whose 190e had heat coming out the outside vents I believe while AC out the center.

His were cracked. Simple replacement.

You may want to try a search. There are many postings on the topic.
