would like to find out if there is an over-voltage relay in a W123? If so, where? Also, where is the voltage regulator, if there's one. Thanks!

Voltage reg/brush assembly is mounted on back of alternator with two screws; 'can be removed and replaced with short, common screwdriver in less than five min. Remove two screws, pull the small unit down and to rear while jiggling it slightly and carefully to clear lower edge of the alt. Replacement is reverse of removal.

On 1980/81 280E models & 1984(Calif only)/1985 300DT/TDT/CDT there is a overvoltage relay. On diesels it is beside glove box liner, next to the right side dash vent.
