climate control soldering
before I attempt this...
Does someone have a good writeup. I am sure there was one floating on the web-but I cannot find it today. I had just removed the bottom plate and was going to do the clean, flux, and remelt the solder. Then post clean with alcohol again. One of the pins looks a little melted- pin 12 on the tempture dial side. It's got loose solder above the board somewhere.. I'd like to take it apart further and remove FOD. Michael

Thanks for the suggestions...
I build my DAC for my stereo.. not perfect with etching boards, but I've got a nice temp controled soldering iron. I use alcohol to clean-which will disolve resin(rosin?) too. For flux, from my military and NASA friends, I was always under the impression that they didn't allow stronger flux than RMA- and that's what I use. Ussually get the temp on the iron right and 3-5 seconds is all it takes. Still looking Michael
