Vent Dial Bulb Replacement--'92 300E
I'm trying to replace the bulb that illuminates the vent dial on the far right of the dash (near the door). You know the knob you turn to operate the vent opening... that's where the problem is. Does anyone know how to remove the knob itself and access the bulb to replace it?

You'll see four small clips with a hole in them, inside the vent. One clip is at each corner. Cut two wire coat hangers into "U" shapes and each tip of the "U" will go into the hole on the clips. Manipulate your self-made tool so that you can pull down on all four clips simultaneously, and then pull the vent out.

Thank you Speedy!! I'll give it a go....

Vent wheel light bulb
I'm attempting to do the same for my 1987 300E except I need to replace the center vent wheel bulb. Is there a hidden screw on the left side of the vent? Do I need to remove the gage cluster? Something is keeping it from coming out on the left side and I am afraid to pull too hard. Any help is appreciated.
