Ok, here goes again, Thanks for the help Jim and Suginami. I took the car for a quick ride last night, streets were cleared of snow. Seems like tha Trans. shifts normal, shifts at 5mph, 25mph and 32mph. doesn't seem to be a module??

Aaaaaah, it doesn't shift "normal", at least when its cold.

When your car is cold, the upshift delay valve delays the 2nd to 3rd gear shift for about 45 seconds, or up until you reach 35 mph.

The purpose in keeping the car in 2nd gear for an extended period of time is to quickly warm up the catalytic converter to reduce smog emissions.

Make sure that . . . .

the car is cold. By that, the car should sit overnight either outside or in a cold place as an unheated garage. Then you do this test first thing after starting the car. The tranny has be cold.

As Paul says, the car should stay in lower gear where it seems that the tranny is not working right, because it won't shift.

If everything is ok, it will shift up and that says the module is ok.

If it doesn't (ie the car shifts right away), then it is probably the module itself.
