Ignition Coil Wire
I would like to change wire that goes from the distributor to the ignition coil. The wire into the coil goes underneath this plasticky cover of the coil.
My question is, do you just yank out the plastic cover? The wire seems attached to it, hence pulling the cover out will also pull out the wire. Car is 89 300E! |
The plastic cover over the coil is somewhat split on one side (where the wire comes out) and you have to open it. It is held together by a plastic "snap". Just pop it apart and the cover will slide rigth off. if you are going to replace the coil wire, maybe it's time to replace the whole set. Get the real Bosch wires from dealer or form the folks at Fastlane. Wires don't last forever and new plugs and wires can be a nice preparation for winter starting.
