Unhappy help with climate control on C220

Benz guru whats up? I having issue with my climate control on my 95/96 C220. When i turn it on the EC or economy mode is always on. I cant shut it off. So my ac compressor is not engaging. Pls help. Thanks.

Same thing happened to mine after AC repair.
Push the EC button and hold it until the light goes out.

It's kind of an emergency "fallback" position. Usually the problem is you've run out of refrigerant. Need to get it checked out.

Your inability to disengage EC Mode is because there is a problem with your AC (compresssor). If a prfault has occured within the unit, then the AC will not operate at all. Check your fault codes via the PBU. Good luck!

TO start with is the car a 1995 OR 1996?? as they have completely different control systems. THE 1996 & later cars have sensor input problems that can cause the EC lamp to stay-on.

M.B.DOC, could you elaborate more on the "sensor input problems " you mentioned above. Is it possible to have a problem without any codes appearing? I have my own post going about this EC light thing but since you mentioined it here... Thanks,
