Can some one tell me where the flasher is located on a 77 280se? My blinkers quit working and the fuse is fine. Thanks for your time guys.

I used to own a '80 300SD, which is the same 116 chassis as your car. I believe it's under the ashtray. I used to have the factory chassis manual for that car, but I sold it.

Before you dig for the flasher try cycling the hazard switch a couple times. Sometimes the switch kinda sticks internally and prevents the turn signals from flashing. With all the lighting rework you've done I'd bet the hazards were checked for function recently.

it is not under the ashtray, I tried the hazard switch cycling also. My hazards do not work either, I dont know if this is from the problem or not.

I completely forgot that I still have the MB 116 chassis manual on CD as well. It was the actual paper manuals I sold, not the CD. I'll research this for you, hopefully it's in there.

Ok, I found the flasher relay, but only in the wiring diagram. If you are familar with these diagrams, they are not specific as to where the individual components are. You could try under the driver's side of the dash. It's not too hard to remove that lower panel. According to the wiring diagram there are 2 wires going to this relay. One wire is black/red and the other is black/green/white. The connector isn't very big. As someone has already mentioned, sometimes by turning on the hazards will get things working again. I have had this happen to me on my '83 TD. I lift the turn signal for a turn and nothing. I turned on the hazards, which worked, then the turn signals worked.
Sorry I couldn't find the exact location for you, but the manual wasn't very helpful in that reagard.

I think you just need to buy a new harzard light switch. The relays hardly ever go bad.

Hi d-money.

The relay is under the wood trim
for the shifter.
It lays sideways so you can't mis it.

Louis.
