W126 brakes on a W123

Hi all - I have heard that it is possible to fit W126 brakes onto a W123.

I have a 230TE (UK wagon)...

Can I "just" order the rotors and calipers and do a straight swap or am I being too naive?

A complete list of the required parts in order to complete the job from anyone that has (?) would be a godsend.

Also - what brake pads do people use? I have just put reasonably cheap ones on, and to be frank I am not impressed (more fool me?)

cheers all
