The air fan on my 240D stopped working. I have no a/c as of yet and driving in stalled traffic on I-285 in Atlanta on a hot, steamy afternoon was a bummer! I did lose 5 pounds, however. It blew intermittently for a while then stopped working altogether. There were no noises to indicate that the blower motor was failing. There is no response from the center switch. Any suggestions on where to start or what to look for?
Thanks! ------------------ W123 1979 240D 224K (Southern Sloth) [This message has been edited by Southern Sloth (edited 06-29-2000).] [This message has been edited by Southern Sloth (edited 06-29-2000).] |

Probably the first thing is to take the passenger leg panel off (beneath dash), then unplug the blower and replace the removed wire with positive and negative jumper leads.
If it does not run, the blower motor is bad. If it dos run, disconnect and re-connect several times to see if it re-starts each time. Obviously, checking fuses and ensuring that the fuse ends are not corroded would be the very fist thing to try. Bob |
