car is very hard to start and stumbles on take off
I have a 1989 300se mercedes and i am haveing trouble gitting it started any time it is cold i have to crank for at least five to ten min. once it is started it runs great down the road but it stumbles from a dead stop. I think it may be the fuel pump relay but I get voltage at the fuel pump for thirty seconds then it goes off also i get full voltage when i turn the car over. Another idea is could it be the cold start sencer or a fuel pump getting old and weak any help would be great.

cold start vavle, idle control valve hoses (the cold start lives in one of them), mixture adjustement, other vac leaks.
If you have a bad vac leak and weak cold start valve, you are going to have trouble starting cold. Vac leaks also cause stumbling off idle, and serious "throttle lag". Check all the vac lines -- probably all leaking. Replace the rubber connectors and you should be fine. If not, check the duty cycle and adjust the mixture if you have to. Also check the EHA for leakage -- if it leaks, replace it. Peter

It could also be related to the Over Voltage Protection Relay. Check the OVP fuse first, it's over near the battery, has a flip open clear plastic lid on top and a 10 amp fuse under the lid, check that fuse.
