Is it possible to replace the bushings on the the mercedes rear spring arm by maintaining weight on the car and placing a scissors jack under the spring arm, then uncoupling the bolt thru the bushing...then lowering the arm slowly about 1.5 inches... yes or no?
Many thanks. If not.. best way?

Always use a spring compressor when dealing with springs. They are powerful and can suprise you if you don't get things quite right. This is not a place to cut corners. Be safe.

Here's an excerpt from the "Safety Procedure Bulletin" that came with my H&R springs:

"The removal and installation of suspension springs can be very hazardous. Springs under compression have a tremendous amount of stored energy that when handled improperly can be released abruptly damaging people and property . . ."

They also recommend having their products installed by qualified licensed mechanics.

Just food for thought.
