vacuum modulator
 

Have read on this forum about adjusting modulator to eliminate transmission flaring...."remove cover, pull out T-shaped handle, and turn".

When I pull out my T-shaped handle it comes completely out.

Is this normal (for it to come completely out of the modulator)??

It does come clear out . But to adjust you don't pull it clear out. You just pull it out far enough to clear the locks, then turn to adjust. But, you better have a guage on it before you attempt any ajustment.

Mine comes completely out!

Of course it comes all the way out, it is made that way. When adjusting you only need to pull it out far enough to clear the notched ring. Make your adjustments one notch at a time if you aren't using a set of gauges and keep track of your starting point. If you screw the pooch and get it too far out you can always return to the starting point.
