Injectors Possibly Clogged!

* Cliff Notes: I'm getting my auto tranny rebuilt it's at a buddy's shop David C. (import place) Kartec Motoring.

I blew my tranny had it towed back to my house. I tried to crank it wouldn't start. So I had it towed to his place.

I was told my car wouldn't start and my injectors were possibly clogged.

In total: $1100 for the rebuild, labor, and towing to 3rd party.

David pulled my tranny for me and cleaned my car for me. Later it was sent to a place that specializes in tranny's.

He guarantees his work so if something goes wrong I could bring it back to him.

I've never pulled a head from an MB is this a one man job?

Should I let him do it?

I'm more than capable of doing this but I'm no pro.

Your transmission problem has nothing to do with the no-start condition.
I am a bit surprised that the diagnostic for a no start problem goes directly to the injectors. There are so many thing (cheaper) that can go wrong before first blaming the injectors.
Fuel pump, fuel pump relay, fuel filter, ignition, and about 10 other causes are quite possible.
before spending the kind of money your are talking about, I would have a professional/serious diagnostic done.

Sorry I didn't expound on my previous promblems with the car.

I replaced the fuel filter when I first bought my car a year ago.

It's been in the shop for quite some time now.

It needs a new cap&rotor, spark plugs, ignition wires. Basically a tune up.

The engine response was a bit sluggish with him not ever driving the car to come to the conclusion is not to far fetched.

My buddy is the owner of the shop so I respect his expertise but he could be wrong. He primarily works on imports.

I had 2 cars at the time and it really wasn't a priority. I regret it now not taking care of the car.

What's the connection between clogged injectors and pulling the head?

I need to check if I bent any valves.

I dogged my 201 pretty bad had two cars at the time wasn't concerned.

My tranny blowing up was a result of racing. At the time I was 17 turning 18 immaturity owned me :o

Nothing about this car was in running order except the A/C :(

Do compression and leak-down tests. If the results are good, don't pull the head. If the results are not good, bring up the findings and someone can guide you on how to approach the matter.

What makes you think you have bent valves?

This story is growing by the minute :D

Well something in my slushbox linkage isn't quite tight. I was doing about 60mph pacing my buddies C280 and what not.

My hand was on the shifter I accidently dropped into 2nd gear which lasted for about 10-20seconds and I slid out of control(rain).

After that it went downhill. I definetly need a compression and leak down test.

I've learned my lesson though as far as mechanics.

Next time it's going to go in the hands of someone who is knowledgeable about Mercedes.

What's really sad is the lady that my dad bought my 190 from was a bit mentally unstable.

She was a patient of my dad's he's a PA. I highly doubt the car had any maintaince and it was undrivable for years in the condition she had it and sat in a parking lot.

I got it for steal but not worth it in some ways.

My dad isn't a car guy and bought a ton of stuff for the stealership and wasn't concerned at the time about the running condition of the car.

He didn't ask my assistance cause my car was a present but it was at his office and I work for him. Really wasn't a suprise but that's another story.
