I've got a '95 C280. When the engine is cold it starts quickly every time. However, when the engine is warm and it has been sitting for 10 minutes or more, you have to depress the accelerator and crank it for 5 - 7 seconds before it will fire. Once started, it runs fine. Any ideas? Thanks.

Fuel accumulator->bleeding down of fuel pressure. Try it w/o humping the accelerator pedal. Hot start problems can be a "PITA" to figure out, but, it may be mild vapor lock associated with pressure bleed off.

HFM-SFI fuel systems like this one don't use a fuel accumulator. But fuel bleed-off could be the problem. Fuel pump check valve or fuel pressure regulator can cause this. Also there are 2 ECU's that might even record faults that might show an electrical problem.
