As I drove down to San Diego from S.F. I noticed my SRS light on the dash flickering but then it went off. Outside temperature was 92 Deg. Faren. On the way back home, the light bagan to flicker and finally stayed on for the duration of the trip. Outside temp 92-99 Deg Faren. Average speed 70 MPH using cruise control and A/C. Back in cool San Fran. 58 Deg. Faren. The SRS light did not appear on dash beside the momentary check when ignition is turned on. Did the external temp. induce this quirk ? All is normal now. P.S. What is the standard shop hours for removal and replacement of the oil pan for this car ? Thank you. ------------------ 1979 300D 133K miles 1989 300SE 1995 C280 |
Many times as the SRS contacts at the steering wheel get old & are worn this will happen, also too high or low voltage supply can cause this to happen. Have the system checked! When the light is on the system is OFF. Very simple old style scan tool can read this system (analog-pulse).
The oil pan reseal should take 3-4 hrs. ------------------ MERCEDES BENZ MASTER GUILD TECHNICIAN ASE MASTER TECHNICIAN 27 YEARS DEALER M.B. Shopforeman 190E 2.3 ITS RACECAR 1986 190E 16V |
