Better handling for a 300te???

1989 300te...I would love it to flatten out on turns, I don't like the amount of body roll it gets. Any ideas?

500E rear sway-bar and bushings.
W124 Limo front sway-bar and bushings.

Need more?

Early 500E front struts
Early 500E springs all around

If your front control-arms, diff bushings, and rear subframe bushings are over 7-years old, get them changed. Use the 500E rear subframe bushings in the rear.

lower springs

Many shops will install shorter, stiffer springs....which are available on the internet. I don't know how they compare to 500E springs, but I'm sure it will be an improvement.

In fact, I believe PartsShop link on this site shows an entire suspension mod that emulates the early 90s "SportLine" suspension for the 300E, 300CE, 300TE.

p.s. My 300TE rolls, but in single curves, I just add 20mph to the posted limit, and let it hang out. My wagon still kicks the snot out of any SUV around a curve. Truth, baby. 200k and 28mpg.

The 500E setup is the best compromise for a controlled and comfortable ride.

Want stiffer, try SportLine springs all around and Sportline front struts or Bilstein "Sport" front struts.

If it's an everday car, go 500E and you won't be sorry.

The easiest is probably lower profile tires on existing rims, then bigger rims with lower profile tires, then Eibach springs with Sport Bilsteins.

It may seem trivial, but if the sway bar bushings haven't been replaced - try that first. Cheap, and the results are very satisfying, without sacrificing the ride.
