wow today i saw the most unbelievable thing on RT 80 near GW Bridge in NJ.. it was a E55 on the side of the road with a huge whole on the hood with a cloud of smoke.. i know for a fact it was a E55 because it was the car which blew past us 20 min earlier..
whats up with this??? did the motor shoot somethin out ???? it was a pretty big bulge with a pretty nice sized whole.. u think a piston flew out??? hehe.. well actually not that funny were talkin about a AMG here.. my deepest condolences to the driver,,,

BmwTek:

Why don't you call some of your local MBZ dealers and see if they've received that E55 into their shop. Ask some questions and let us know. People are always willing to talk about the "out-of-the-ordinary" occurances.

Maybe that guy

1. Chipped the car, removed limiters.
2. Forgot that he left shifter in 2nd year.
3. He floored the throttle at 55mph with above conditions applied.

That's all I can think of as 5.5L engine is virtually bullet-proof
