nonfunctional gauges

My 86 420sel recently developed nonfunctioning guages. The tach, speedometer, odometer, engine oil/temp guage won't work. The dash lighting is still functional. How do I fix this problem?

John

Replace the fuse.

Probably should take a good look at all of them, they are aluminum strips on ceramic holders, and corrode. They will flex as the current goes on and off, and crack. Can't tell they are bad till you tough the fuse element, at which point it falls apart.

No speedometer? I thought that was cable driven from the transmission in 1986.
