I just replaced my brake pads on my '85 300D today. I hadn't had time to get new pads via parts shop so I called my local import shop. They wanted $39.99 for the front pads.
I went to my local Pepboys and they only wanted $12.00 for the font pads. The brand is Prostop and the pads are 100% asbestos free. Has anyone had experience with this brand and if so, what is your opinion. Thanks, fellas. ------------------ FrankieZ 84 500SEL EURO 87K 85 300D 267K (and still goin' strong) |

Use the OE brake pads only don't use after market pads because OE pads are made for mercedes only.

That's why they are so cheap. No asbestos in the blend. I'll bet they last about 15,000 miles. Good luck. Feed and water your baby with the best you can afford. There are few things more heart rending than a panic stop and a pad liner separation. You will never forget that experience.
