Timing chain on a 96 C280 with 180k
I have never checked the timing chain on it
how can i do that?? (or do i need a 'tech' person to do it for me) the engine is running fine with some minor oil burning (and only when driven HARD and HOT weather) i did a search and i see a lot of stuff about timing chain on the diesel engine but not much on the C-class M104 i think i came accross a person with the w124 with 240k when he changed his timing chain so....i dun really know THanks for the help |
i talk with a mb tech and he suggested to get it replaced at 200k-250k ?? does that sound about rite to any of you ??

It's a double row chain with a fairly short path. It has not been a problem on that engine. I would go with what the tech says.
