96 420 CL 140 vibration when cold...
i get a 'fine' vibration when the engine is cold - and when its in D and stationary. it gets slightly worse whn the steering is on full lock (loading the engine slightly more) - my mechanic reckons it could be engine mounts - but im dubious as it just started one day.
not noticeable when driving (possibly due to the bad road in the UK) and goes away when in N - havent tried R TBH... can this be linked to the very sluggish gearchange when cold? i have to reverse out of my drive onto the road, and when i stop, stick it in D it can sometimes take 3 or 4 seconds to engage. its fine when warm...

I'd listen to the mechanic. Motor mounts sound logical to me.
