Need to replace noisy heater fan motor.
My regular mechanic suggests "live with it" and does not want to tackle the job since he "will have to remove the console". Is this a big job? Does any one have any tips.

Forget you "Mechanic" and find a qualified Mercedes-Benz Technician. He will have no problem making this repair. It is a very routine repairs that also happens to be very easy on a 126 chassis car. If you are slightly mechanicaly incline this is a DIY project. You should be able to complete this repair with normal tools and skills in a couple of hours.

The blower is over to the right hand side above the passenger's footwell. I have replaced many, and now can do it quickly. Your tech needs a Mercedes course or two.
