I have a W21O and whenever I put the driver's side window down, it sqweeks VERY badly. However, it doesn't sqweek when going down. It is most embaressing especially if somebody hears it!

My 300CE does this also only when the window reaches the top or bottom of travel.

I think its the main pivot point on the regulator that is getting fatigued. I tried l lubricating all the pivot point, but it did not help. I'll be replacing my regulator later next month.

There is a modification to the mounting of window regulator. Rivets come loose where regulator is mounted to door.

Above mentioned fix is for the W210 chassis from original post, a dealer mod for sure. If your W124 chassis is doing this I'll bet it's the regulator.
