1981 380sl

just purchased a 81 380SL, car has been sitting in garage started occasionaly, needed fuel pump, car was hard to start when started needed to keep peddle depressed. now have replaced pump, wires, plugs, filter, car now starts immediatly but dies rapidly as if running out of gas, when running it is extremly smooth any ideas//need help

The frequency valve is just to the left (driver's side) of the fuel meter, in-line on a fuel line, with a two wire connector. With the engine running, you should feel a distinct vibration or "buzzing".

1981 380SL fuel/vac ??

have checj\ked frequencey found no vibe or buzz replaced it car starts runs a little longer but still stalls as if out of gas, looked at warm up reg on top port listed as "vac conection intake manifold" can not find acurate diagram or disconected line tring to trace but having difficult time help??

I can send you a file with vacuum and fuel schematics as well a good explanation of the WU comp functions, but the file is too big to post here. Send me an email and I'll send it to you. Check the thermal valve (right front of the intake, red, two-port valve) for broken or cracked nipples. It sounds like you have a vacuum leak somewhere.
