Can anyone tell me how much a cat for the exhaust for a 86 300E goes for? Some dingbat says $700-$800. Please tell me he's the dingbat and not me!!!!

Most are VERY expensive. I have seen some high quality aftermarket ones that would be OK with me if you are on a budget. You will have to look around and choose the best for you.
I know that some muffler shops will install one parts and all for under $200. ------------------ Benzmac: Donnie Drummonds 1991 GMC Syclone ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN SERVICE MANAGER FOR 14 BAY FACILITY MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM |

Try www.timevalve.com. For $800.00 you can get a complete stainless system. This comes with a lifetime warranty.

I just put in my order yesterday for a timevalve system. I am going for the Bekkers aftermarket Cat, and then removing the center resonator and a timevalve reare muffler. My mechanic insisted I get timevalve, so Im interested to see what I get out of it.

quote: I already have a stainless steel exhaust system on the car ,is it ok to go with an aftermarket catalytic converter? I know I should have have the cat done then but,I didn't really start to hear the back pressure until I changed the O2 sensor. Any ideas on solving my back pressure problem, or do I definietly need the cat.? |
